God's laws - what should we do and rather not do ?

All these listed laws were confirmed by Jesus Christ -

thus, they are not old and outdated laws.

A little below the following laws of God is a "handicraft instruction"
with a statement on the subsequent "allowed" sorting of the laws.
Here you can get there directly.

A few lines below, I have written a summary of God's laws,
designated by the Lord Jesus Christ as "his" laws.

Jesus' words:

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
(John 14/15)

"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me ..."
(John 14/21)

"If ye keep my commandments, (then) ye shall abide in my love ..."
(John 15/10)

And Jesus adds:

"You are (only then) my friends if you do what I command you
(If you put into practice what I tell you and ask you)."
(John 15/14)

First of all, a very important note:

All the laws of the Lord, which you can read in this cleartext point,
originate from the New Testament (except the Ten Commandments).

The law was thus not abolished by Jesus' birth and crucifixion.

(Please read in cleartext point 125, that the Old Testament maintains its validity.)

If you were told that God 's laws would no longer be valid since the implementation of the
New Testament, then please read absolutely
the beginning of cleartext point 137. It is about the issue of dispute:
"We live no longer under the law, but under grace."

If you were also told that God's laws were no longer valid,
then you can read here (in a new tab) an important hint.

No one must or should learn the laws by heart - but it would be sensible,
to read them from time to time (in the somewhat deeper following summary).

It is very important to put them into practice because you get used to it.
This, in turn, leads to the gradual adoption of laws -
according to the motto (proverb): "Practice makes perfect."

We should always strive with all our heart - and not follow the laws of God
half-hearted or lukewarm - or ignoring them.

This is why the following warning has been written for us in the bible:

"Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments,
and his judgments, and his statutes ..."
(Deuteronomy 8/11)

If you love the Lord with all your heart, then you won´t forget him guaranteed (and his laws)
but voluntarily be interested in following his laws out of love and gratitude -
especially as they serve us best.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God ..."
(Romans 8/28)

Following the laws of God, which Jesus Christ calls "his" laws.

First, God's ten commandments. (They are from the Old Testament.)

Some lines below follow the laws of God, which Jesus Christ asserted through his personal in-the-act transposition (by his example) and by his sermons.
They were all written down for us in the New Testament of the bible.

1.

We can only worship God and Jesus Christ.
Everything else would be a sin !
Regardless of which name they wear,
it is sin for God and Jesus Christ !

Please read in the cleartext point 101 that no one is allowed to pray to Mary or to other "saints" !

We must not "worship" and adore money and material values.

(Matthew 4/10 and Luke 10/27 and Luke 16/13 and Exodus 20/3-5, and Deuteronomy 5/7-9, and Deuteronomy 6/5)

2.

We shall keep the name of God holy
and not use it meaningless and in vain.

(For example: "Thank God ..." or "For God's sake ..." etc.)

(Matthew 6/9 and Luke 11/2 and Exodus 20/7, and Deuteronomy 5/11)

3.

We shall sanctify the holiday.

(The seventh day we shall use to recover - and to read in God's Word.)

Sabbath - see cleartext point 152.

(Exodus 20/8-11 and Deuteronomy 5/12-15)

4.

We shall honour father and mother.

(Matthew 15/4 and Mark 10/19 and Luke 18/20 and Exodus 20/12 and Deuteronomy 5/16)

5.

We shall not kill.

(Matthew 5/21 and Mark 7/21 and Mark 10/19 and Luke 18/20 and Exodus 20/13 and Deuteronomy 5/17)

6.

We shall not commit adultery.

We shall not "pinch" or "take over" the partner of other people.

Even covetous looks count for Jesus to adultery.

(Matthew 5/27-28 and Mark 7/22 and Mark 10/19 and Luke 18/20 and Exodus 20/14 and Deuteronomy 5/18)

We shall not behave indecently.

(Matthew 15/19 and Mark 7/21)

7.

We shall not steal, defraud, rob and blaspheme.

(Blasphemy - see alphabetically arranged search terms.)

(Matthew 15/19 and Matthew 25/21 and Matthew 25/23 and Mark 7/21 and Mark 10/19
And Luke 11/39 and Luke 18/20 and Exodus 20/15 and Deuteronomy 5/19)

8.

We shall not lie.

(Matthew 15/19 and Mark 10/19 and Luke 18/20 and Exodus 20/16 and Deuteronomy 5/20)

9.

We shall not covet anything that belongs to other people.
We shall not be envious or dissatisfied, but learn to be content.

(Matthew 20/11-15 and Mark 7/22, and Exodus 20/17, and Deuteronomy 5/21)

Please read the cleartext point 097 on the topic "Desire - Envy".

How you learn contentment you can read in cleartext point 091.

10.

We shall not be greedy (possessive).

(Mark 4/19 and Mark 7/22 and Mark 10/21-22 and Luke 11/39 and Luke 12/14-15 and Luke 12/20-21)

- 3 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

11.

We shall recognise that we possess nothing and can do nothing by ourselves (without God's help).
God gives us the strength to succeed.

(Matthew 6/25-27 and Matthew 16/26 and Mark 8/36-37 and Luke 12/22-31 and John 15/5)

Please read the cleartext point 090 entitled: My property.

12.

We should not get attached to material things.
This distracts us.
Spending money - and making money needs time.
To read God's Word - and then to put it into practice - also demands time.
Therefore the right relationship should always be chosen for the "service to God" and our private "pleasure".

(Mark 10/21-23, Mark 12/43-44, Luke 12/14-15, Luke 12/16-21, Luke 12/29-31)
And Luke 12/33-34 and Luke 14/33 and Luke 16/13 and Luke 16/25 and Luke 18/22-25
And John 6/27 and John 6/35)

Please read the cleartext point 005 titled: You say you do not have time to read the bible ?

In cleartext point 003, you will learn how to understand the bible.

I would like to recommend the cleartext point 153. Its title: Essential for survival: We must learn to let go !

Please read the cleartext point 149, titled: Should Christians refrain from everything and only "mope" ?

13.

We shall gather treasures in heaven.

(Matthew 6/19-20 and Matthew 19/21-24 and Luke 12/33-34 and John 6/27)

(For this purpose, please read the cleartext point 089.)

14.

Jesus loves the poor because they long for paradise.
We should know that for a rich man it is very hard to get into God's kingdom.
We are the rich in relation to the billions of the world's poor.

(Luke 6/20-21 and Luke 16/25 and Matthew 19/23-24 and Mark 10/23-25 and Luke 18/24-25)

Please read the cleartext point 015. Its title:
Is it really so difficult to get eternal life and do really just a few people enter God's kingdom ?

15.

Jesus says that we should put our faith firmly and securely,
By putting it into practice, what he commands us (tells us). Otherwise, it can happen that we "fade" one day.

(Matthew 7/24-29 and Luke 6/47-49)

I would like to give you the following tip:

Do not procrastinate the commandments which are particularly difficult for you, because that ain´t beneficial. All the laws of the Lord must be observed anyway, for he says:

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law (apart from that), and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
(James 2/10)

If you start with the laws that are particularly difficult for you, it can only get easier afterwards.

But if you procrastinate the difficult laws, you have a wall of fear and frustration in front of you, because you know that you have to execute these laws someday.

However, you do not know how much time the Lord still gives you.

Every man, even you, is only one breath,
a heart attack or an accident away from eternity !

Please also read the cleartext point 113. Its title: One day it's too late.

Who, for example, always procrastinates the law of tithing, proves the Lord that he (or she) loves the money and the material pleasures of this world more than God.

But if you have given tithes to God for years, then you will scarcely fall away from the Lord because if problems arise you say to yourself:
"Now I have invested so much money in faith in all these years, now I will not be so foolish and fall away from the Lord and from faith, for then all that I have done and paid has been in vain."

You can not buy the kingdom of heaven with money - but if you love the money more than God, then the Lord will one day turn away from you.

Please read the cleartext point 044. Its title: Do we realise it, if God drops us ?

By doing much for the Lord, Satan has no chance make you doubt.
(You can find important information about the issue doubts in the cleartext point 062.)

Besides, it makes you strong inwardly when you know that you have succeeded in fulfilling the more difficult laws.
Through this strong self-confidence, nothing can throw you so quickly.

16.

We shall not only do what is pleasing to us, or what is easy for us,
but we should put all the laws of God and Jesus into practice.

What is meant by God's laws can be found out in cleartext point 002.

Please also read the cleartext point 148. Its title:
Can we "sort" God's laws and "crochet" them ?

17.

We shall learn and show gratitude towards God and Jesus Christ.
By implementing their words consciously and enthusiastically,
we show them our gratitude.

On the subject of gratitude, please read the cleartext point 049.

Only when you know exactly why Jesus Christ had to be crucified -
why there was no other way for God to forgive us our sins,
then you will be even more grateful to Jesus.

Why Jesus had to die, you can find out in the cleartext point 006.

God and Jesus are watching us during our lives on this earth (see cleartext point 023).
They want to see, that we are enthusiastically active and do not only linger sluggishly on the church benches.

Jesus Christ speaks clear text. He says:

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot."
(If you do not implement the words of Jesus with enthusiasm into action,
then you act lukewarm in his eyes.)
"Because thou art lukewarm ...
I will spue (spit) thee out of my mouth." (That is why I do not want you in my kingdom.)
(Revelation 3/15-16)

On the subject of enthusiasm, you can find important notes in the cleartext point 019.

Please also read the cleartext point 018. Its title: We shall not be sluggish !

18.

We shall care intensively about the words of God and Jesus Christ -
thus to get acquainted with the laws of the Lord. For only who knows what they want from us can live on. Through bible study (or through the elaboration of the cleartext points) you will consolidate your knowledge. Jesus' words are to be memorised correspondingly.
We shall take the time to read the words of God and Jesus.

Please read the cleartext points 003 and 005 about this topic.

But it is important to put Jesus' words into practice.
So: read, understand, believe, remember and do !

The cleartext point 010 also bears this title: We should read (or hear) the words of God and Jesus Christ - understand - believe (do not doubt) - remember - and do !

Jesus wants us to hold on to his words - to literally cling to his word and follow it - thus, to put it into practice.
This obedience will ultimately set us free.
Jesus formulated it as follows:

"... If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
(John 8/31-32)

19.

We need to understand that there is no point in saying:
"I didn´t know, what God and Jesus wanted from me."

(John 15/22)

The secular proverb also applies in this case:

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

How Jesus Christ will judge at the Last Judgment, you learn in the cleartext point 118.

20.

We do not know how much time remains in our lives.
Therefore, we should not put off any longer.

Please also read the cleartext point 113. Its title: One day it's too late.

21.

We shall learn Godliness (fear of God). It is even helpful for us.

Jesus Christ says:

"And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body,
and after that have no more that they can do (to you).
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear:
Fear him (God), which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell;
yea, I say unto you, Fear him."
(Luke 12/4-5)

You can find information about the hell in the cleartext point 142.

Please note that Jesus is speaking in the just read warning:

"And I say unto you my friends ..."
(Luke 12/4)

With this warning, he does not want to intimidate his enemies, but he wants to warn his friends about hell and show them the seriousness of the situation clearly.

Read the cleartext point 025 on the topic of God fear.

22.

We must not dismiss the subject of hell and the Last Judgment as something ridiculous, unrealistic or invented by the church.
Jesus Christ personally warns us again and again with all seriousness.
If you do not believe Jesus, then you label him as a liar !

Please read in cleartext point 118 Jesus' words about the last judgment.

And the cleartext point 142 deals with the subject of hell.

23.

We shall establish a firm connection with God and Jesus Christ.

For more information, see the cleartext points 014 and 039.

Jesus explains to us what he understands as friendship.

Please read more in cleartext point 054.

24.

We are to do the will of God and Jesus Christ. Jesus does not want to be hypocritically addressed as "Lord" if we do not obey his words.
"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"
(Luke 6/46)

Please read the cleartext point 000. It bears the title: You love Jesus ? - Then work for him !

25.

We shall know that to God all laws, commandments and prohibitions are equally important. There are no important or unimportant laws.
Blasphemy weighs as hard as sin before God as murder.

Please read more about this in cleartext point 008.

26.

We are to seek our sins and faults in ourselves
and then repent them before Jesus Christ (honestly repent)
and to wholeheartedly make an effort not to repeat these mistakes (these sins).

We must know exactly why Jesus Christ had to be crucified -
why there was no other way for God to forgive us our sins.

Why - you can find out in cleartext point 006.

On the subject of penance please read the cleartext point 009.

27.

We must know, what awaits us at the last judgment if we don´t obey the words of God and Jesus Christ and put them into action.

What Jesus said about the last judgment, you can read in cleartext point 118.

But as we are not able to go through life without mistakes, we must honestly repent.

Please read more in cleartext point 009.

28.

We have to forgive our fellow human beings (even our enemies) - again and again !
Only then does the Lord forgive us our sins.

In cleartext point 078 you will learn why we have to forgive.

Jesus says:

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, (then) your heavenly Father (God) will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, (then) neither will your Father (God) forgive your trespasses."
(Matthew 6/14-15)

This is based on the "if - then - principle".

Information on God´s "if - then - principle" in cleartext point 170.

29.

We shall love our enemies and even help them.
We should pray for those who persecute us
and do good to those who hate us.

Please read more in cleartext point 079.

30.

We shall not repay evil with evil.

"Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men."
(Romans 12/17)

"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
(Romans 12/21)

When one repays evil with evil, the name of the victor is already fixed.
He can only be called "evil," because there was no other participant in the fight.
But if "evil" and "good" are fighting with each other, there is the chance that the victor is called "good", because there were two different participants in this fight.

We shall not avenge ourselves but learn forgiveness.

(Matthew 5/38-42 and Mark 11/25 and Luke 6/29-30)

On the subject of forgiveness, you can find infos in the cleartext point 078.

31.

We shall reconcile ourselves with our fellow human beings rather immediately.

(Matthew 5/23-25)

32.

We shall settle peacefully with our opponent, to solve the problem extrajudicially - not that suddenly we are judged ourselves.

(Matthew 5/25-26 and Luke 12/58-59)

33.

We shall not argue with our fellow men and insult them.

Please read more in cleartext point 082.

34.

God and Jesus are against hypocrisy (pretending).

(Matthew 23/1-35 and Mark 12/38-39 and Luke 11 / 39-52 and Luke 12/1 and John 18/31)

35.

God and Jesus are against deceit.
We shall be wise - but not deceitful.

(Matthew 10/16 and Matthew 23/25 and Mark 7/22)

36.

God and Jesus are against treason.

(Matthew 24/10 and Matthew 26/24 and Mark 14/21
And Luke 22/22 and John 6/64 and John 13/21)

37.

We should not be evil (vicious).

(Mark 7/22 and Luke 11/39)

38.

God and Jesus are against foolishness.

(Mark 7/22)

Read the cleartext point 075 on cleverness and the cleartext point 076 on the topic of foolishness.

39.

We shall not be angry.

How to fight inner anger you can find out in cleartext point 083.

40.

We should be peaceful. Then we are recognised by God as his children.

(Matthew 5/9 and Mark 9/50)

And we should be gentle (meek).

(Matthew 5/5 and Matthew 11/29)

41.

God and Jesus are against hatred.

(Matthew 24/10 and Mark 9/50 and John 15/23 and John 15/25)

42.

We shall love our neighbour as ourselves.

(Matthew 22/39 and Mark 12/31 and Luke 10/27)

Please read more in cleartext point 080.

43.

We shall treat other people, as we expect and desire to be treated.

Jesus says:

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them ..."
(Matthew 7/12)

He repeats it again in other words:

"And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise."
(Luke 6/31)

And God threatens - or promises us:

"... I will even deal with thee as thou hast done ..."
(Ezekiel 16/59)

44.

We are not to help only those of whom we get some help back.

We should not weigh: "What benefits, or what disadvantages do I have if I help this or that person ?"

(Matthew 5/46-47 and Luke 6/32-35 and Luke 14/12-14)

45.

We shall be merciful. Then we will also receive mercy.

(Matthew 5/7 and Matthew 9/13 and Matthew 12/7 and Matthew 18/33
And Matthew 23/23 and Luke 6/36 and Luke 10/37)

46.

We shall have no hardened heart.

(Mark 6/52 and Mark 8/17)

We shall keep our hearts clean,
then we will see God (on the last day).

(Matthew 5/8)

47.

We shall do good to others - as if we were to do it personally to Jesus Christ.

Jesus says:

"... Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren (your fellow men), ye have done it unto me."
(Matthew 25/40)

You will find practical examples on the topic of doing good in cleartext point 144.

48.

We shall prove with our deeds to other people, that we are Christians.

(Matthew 5/15-16 and Mark 4/21)

49.

We should not judge other people and not condemn them.

Please read more in cleartext point 077.

50.

We shall not utter useless words or phrases.
Blaspheming or gossiping is, for example, something useless.
God and Jesus forbid blasphemy (malicious slander).
We should not denigrate each other.

Please read more in cleartext point 084.

- 7 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

51.

We shall not provoke - thus, not give offence.

(Matthew 17/27)

We must not provoke other people with our behaviour so that they then sin.
For example, if you know someone does not have to say a single good word about another person, do not direct the conversation to that topic. Otherwise, your conversation partner will surely immediately talk bad about it or blaspheme.
But he would sin then. And who is to blame ?
You - because you have provoked him (albeit unconsciously).

We must not influence other people in such a way that they have less time, for example through recreational activities, to take care of God's word. This would be the case, for example, if you make a book or a film "palatable" to someone, although you already know that the one has hardly time to read the bible.

In cleartext point 132 you will find important information about the topic of other men´s sins.

52.

We have to make sure that we do not fall from faith, because other people "seduce" us or "steal" our time. We should not blindly follow other people and their opinions.

(Matthew 15/14 and Matthew 24/4)

53.

We shall look at Jesus Christ as a perfect example, because he lived up a perfect life for us, a life that pleases God. When choosing our thoughts, our words and our deeds, we must emulate and follow him. We shall not learn from false role models. Jesus Christ is our teacher, Lord and master. His words and his predecessive model are to be internalised and followed.

Please read more about the example of Jesus in cleartext point 021.

54.

If we really want to live our lives according to God's laws, then we must completely "change" our entire life - thus, as to be "born again". It is not enough for the Lord to just "adjust" the past behaviour - to make only small changes ain´t enough for the Lord.

(Matthew 9/16-17 and Matthew 23/26 and Mark 2/21-22 and Luke 5/36-38)

55.

We shall not think or say, "I know that he doesn´t tell me anything new."
We shall accept God's word as children, who are ready to receive because they do not yet know everything.

(Matthew 18/3-4 and Mark 9/33-37, Mark 10/13-15, Luke 9/46-48, Luke 18/15-17)

56.

If we have changed our lives and now want to live one hundred percent according to the word of God, we must be very careful not to be reprobate.

Please read more about it in the cleartext point 059.

57.

We shall know, that Jesus is always with us and that he has placed a "helper" with us: the Holy Spirit.

Please read more in cleartext point 013.

58.

We may not blaspheme the Holy Spirit, for that will never be forgiven to us.

(Matthew 12/31-32 and Mark 3/28-29 and Luke 12/10)

59.

We shall firmly believe that everything is possible for God and Jesus Christ. We shall develop a firm faith, and not be small-minded. Fear is a lack of trust in God.

Read in cleartext point 052 about the power of God.

In cleartext point 062 you will learn that doubts are fatal.

60.

We shall find our inner peace.

61.

We should be on the side of Jesus. But first, we must recognise, on which side we are currently standing. Are we already doing what Jesus says ?

(Matthew 12/30 and Matthew 13/21 and Luke 8/13)

We shall not be afraid or sad when people turn away from us, or discourage us because we confess to Jesus Christ. We shall not deny him - so do not ever deny, that we know and obey him.

For further information, please see the cleartext points 027, 028 and 029.

62.

We shall learn patience.

Please read also the cleartext point 063.

63.

God and Jesus are against violence and compulsion.

(Matthew 20/25-26 and Mark 10/42-44)

64.

God and Jesus are against injustice.

(Matthew 23/28 and Luke 11/42)

65.

We shall not swear. An honest "yes" or "no" is enough.

(Matthew 5/34 and Matthew 5/37)

66.

We are to learn the difference, what brings only earthly (secular) benefits and what is divine - thus, beneficial for the eternal life in paradise. And what is important for eternal life is to be done.

Jesus says:

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"
(Mark 8/36 and Matthew 16/26 and Luke 9/25)

67.

The orders which God and Jesus give us in the bible are to be followed -
even if at the moment we have to accept disadvantages or losses.
On the last day, we are compensated for in the kingdom of God.

(Matthew 16/27 and Matthew 19/29)

68.

God and Jesus are against debauchery.

(Mark 7/22)

Please see also the cleartext points 099 and 100.

69.

We shall not try to buy our soul from God through donations.
For God and Jesus, the amount of donation does not count,
but whether we have made this donation by personal renunciation
and whether we donate out of gratitude, because we are better off
than the needy and the poor.

What Jesus says about the topic of renouncing can be read in cleartext point 092.

70.

If we give alms (donations), then we should not talk about the amount of donation - so do not brag about it.
(Matthew 6/2-4)

But we may (and should even) mention that we donate to help other people - but not brag about it, just motivate others to do it also.
For Jesus said:

"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel (opaque measuring vessel), but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works ..."
(Matthew 5/15-16)

71.

We shall help our fellow human beings to build a strong faith.
(Luke 22/32)

We should take away their doubts.

Information about the topic doubt is in the cleartext point 062.

72.

We shall recognise that our failure is not a proof
for our freedom, but that we are "servants of sin."

(John 8/34)

73.

We shall know how precious the words of God and Jesus are.

(Matthew 13/44-46 and John 6/27 and John 8/51)

74.

We shall recognise that God and Jesus Christ (and their words) are enduring forever.

Please read also the cleartext point 011.

75.

We shall never doubt that there is eternal life.

(John 6/40 and John 14/2-3 and Revelation 21/1-5)

Please read also the cleartext point 120 titled: What will it look like in God's kingdom ?

76.

We shall realise how precious eternal life in God's kingdom is.
There are many people who say:
"If I get it, it's good, and if not, then I've just had bad luck."
With such an attitude one does not get "run after" with eternal life.

How to get the eternal life in God's kingdom guaranteed, you can find out in the cleartext point 001.

77.

We shall recognise that prayers for the dead can´t affect anything anymore. Instead, we should explain to people during their lifetime how they can get eternal life in the kingdom of heaven, in paradise.

(Luke 9/59-60 and Luke 16/19-31 and John 8/51)

78.

We must know that people who now enjoy their lives and their living standards - but neglect the words of God and Jesus Christ - will fare badly after death.
Jesus says, "Blessed are you poor, for the kingdom of God is yours."

And Jesus Christ explains analogously:

Whoever loves this life will not get eternal life.

Literally, his statement is written in John 12/25:

"He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal."

Those who hate this life will do everything they can to get eternal life in God's kingdom,
where there is no shortage, no tears flow and there will be no pain and no suffering.

Please read also the cleartext point 120 titled: What will it look like in God's kingdom ?

79.

We shall not serve two masters. Our leisure activities are often in "competition" with God and Jesus. We should not be distracted by the beautiful things of life.

Jesus says:

"No man can serve two masters ... Ye cannot serve God and mammon."(Mammon is the summary term for material things and money.)
(Matthew 6/24)

Please read also the cleartext point 149, titled: Should Christians refrain from everything and only "mope" ?

80.

If our life is normal or even successful, we will not deal intensively with God and Jesus Christ. We must, therefore, realise how serious God and Jesus are, when they demand something of us "with all the heart". We must learn what it means to "seek God and Jesus."

We should seek God with all our heart !

81.

We shall first look at how we succeed in getting eternal life.
Then God gives us all that we need to survive for this life.

(Matthew 6/24-34)

82.

We shall bravely endure to the end - then God will make us happy.
If we are to suffer in this life, we must not give up,
for we shall be comforted in the kingdom of God.

Please read also the cleartext point 062. Its Title: The order is: Endure and do not doubt !

83.

We shall not put God to the test - so do not ask for a sign of him.

Related to this, please click in the alphabetically arranged search terms: Request for a sign.

84.

We must learn that our will is not the top priority,
but God's will is the right and important one.

(Matthew 6/10 and Matthew 26/39 and Mark 3/35 and Mark 14/36 and Luke 22/42)

85.

We shall learn to serve. We shall serve God and Jesus Christ - and not prioritise our lives or our leisure activities.

About the topic of service, please read the cleartext point 041.

86.

We shall learn to say "no".
(The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.)

(Matthew 26/41 and Mark 14/38)

87.

We shall establish a firm standpoint, and we shall not turn (moody like the weather) from God and Jesus as soon as there are problems.

(Matthew 13/21 and Mark 4/17 and Luke 8/13)

88.

We shall not be afraid of men.

Please read also the cleartext point 026.

89.

If we need help, we shall ask God and Jesus for it. But we have to learn that the aid does not come immediately and not always according to our will.
We shall pray in secret - and not "babble" many words when praying.

Please read also the cleartext point 048 on the topic of prayer.

Attention - very important: We shall not ask for the help of "saints" and also not of Mary.

Please read also the cleartext point 101.

90.

We shall learn humility - thus not behave arrogantly.

(Markus 7/22 and Markus 9/33-35 and Markus 10/35-45)

We must not feel greater than God and Jesus Christ, even though we have achieved a great deal through science today. We can only do what God allows us. We should always try with all our heart, to be as perfect and error-free as God and Jesus.

About the example of Jesus, please read the cleartext point 021.

On the topic of humility, please read the cleartext point 072.

91.

We shall not depict ourselves better than we are.
Jesus says, "For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased ..."

(Luke 14/11 and Luke 18/14)

92.

We shall know that we can not hide anything from God and Jesus Christ.

(Mark 4/22 and Luke 8/17 and Luke 12/2-3)

93.

We shall recognise that we are not called and exhorted countless times by God and Jesus Christ.

Please read also the cleartext point 060.

94.

We shall not seek for honour with men, but instead do all things so that God and Jesus will find pleasure in us and be satisfied with us. We are therefore to seek the glory of God and Jesus - but not to "act piously" and walk through life to be seen as "Christians"
Practised religion is dislikable to the Lord - he wants to see our deeds and works !

Please read also the cleartext point 073. Its title:
If we seek to honour, let us seek it with God.

95.

We shall love righteousness and not be afraid when we stand up for righteousness.
But do not fight selfishly for your own right, but for the right of the weaker.
We are to be righteous, for God and Jesus are against injustice.

(Matthew 5/10 and Matthew 23/28)

(Apropos selfishly: Please also read the cleartext point 207 with the extremely
provoking title: Are we parasites ? - Do we live at the expense of others ?
Ten hard accusations - are you free of any guilt ?)

But we shall not despair if there is so much injustice here on this earth.
Our hunger for righteousness will be satisfied on the last day in God's kingdom.

(Matthew 5/6)

96.

We shall not admit evil thoughts or even cultivate them.

For this purpose please read also the cleartext point 145. Its title:

The power of thoughts. With our thoughts, we influence whether we become winners or losers !

97.

We shall tell people our good experiences with God and Jesus and try to win other people over for God and Jesus. We shall spread the word of God. But who is not interested, we should leave alone and not oppress.

98.

A very important commandment for Jesus: The efficiency !

(Matthew 25/14-30 and Luke 19/11-26)

Please read also the cleartext point 177.

99.

We must know that for God and Jesus pious words, songs or prayers do not count, but our deeds and works. A man who speaks good and plans - but does not do good, is nevertheless a sinner for God and Jesus Christ.

Please read also the cleartext point 017. Its title: Not to do something, can be a sin too !

God is shaking us with an easy-to-understand but the hard-hearted sentence:

"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."
(James 4/17)

Jesus' clear warning:

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that (only those) doeth the will of my Father (put God´s laws into practice) which is in heaven."
(Matthew 7/21)

Please read also the cleartext point 020.

Its title: Just to intend to do something is not enough !

100.

And now a law of God which is rejected even by very many "Christians" and "name Christians": We are to give God the tithes due to him.

(Malachi 3/10 and Matthew 23/23 and Luke 11/42)

For the subject of tithing please read the cleartext point 094.

- 12 -

These were the laws that Jesus Christ designates as "his" laws.

Just now (in the 99th law of the Lord) you could read Jesus' words:

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that (only those) doeth the will of my Father (put God´s laws into practice) which is in heaven."
(Matthew 7/21)

The will of our heavenly Father is, among other things, that we use tithing so the word of the Lord may be spread. Jesus instructed every Christian by the great commission to do so (see cleartext point 030).

Therefore, please consider whether you want to defraud God of his tithes, to keep your living standard - or whether you will use this money in the future, so the words of God and Jesus can be spread according to the great commission order.

If you decide to fulfil Jesus' great commission, then you'll find out in the donation call information, how your money can bring great benefits to the Lord in a very efficient way.

Jesus Christ encourages us to strive with all our heart to put the Lord's orders into practice.

Inadvertent "slips" (that is, not deliberately committed sins) can be "washed away" by him at any time by honest repentance.

Through God's laws, we should not be harassed - but they help us, so we do not get off the right path.

By obeying the Lord voluntarily and out of deep gratitude,
it will be much easier for you to follow his laws.

In cleartext point 064 you will see how you can change a felt compulsion to voluntarism, only by rethinking. The title of this cleartext point is:
How does a: "You have to ...!" - become a voluntary: "I want ... !" - ?

Jesus tells us:

"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deuteronomy 6/5)."
(Matthew 22/3

Through the love of God, many things will be much easier for you in the future, which still cost you a great deal of overcoming.

"And this is love (of God), that we walk after his commandments ... "
(2 John 1/6)

"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."
(1 John 5/3)

Many a man will say, "What - ... his commandments are not difficult" - ?

They are only hard for the people which feel forced to adhere.

Who voluntarily respects the Lord's laws, out of love and gratitude, feels no heavy burden on his shoulders, but goes joyfully through life - always the goal in mind: eternal life in God's kingdom - in paradise.

So let the love of the Lord grow in your heart.
It helps you to fulfil God's laws voluntarily and joyfully.

"... therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."
(Romans 13/10)

Another reference to God's laws:

In cleartext point 009, you will learn exactly what repentance means.

But you can only repent if you know what you are doing wrong.
Only when you know the laws of God, you know your sins.

"Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law:
for I had not known lust, except the law had said,
(Exodus 20:17):"Thou shalt not covet."
(Romans 7/7)

God's law, which he gave men, contains more than the ten commandments.

His laws were distributed in various places in the bible.

To give just one example:
In God's ten commandments, it is not written that we should not blaspheme.
But blasphemy is a sin that blocks our access to God's kingdom on the Last Day.

"Be not deceived (don´t let yourself be persuaded by anyone to something wrong) !
Neither ... nor drunkards, nor revilers (blasphemers), nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
(1 Corinthians 6/9-10)

Hereby you recognise that it is very important,
to know and keep all the laws of God.

God wants us to make the effort to gather all his laws in the bible.

"... keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God ..."
(1 Chronicles 28/8)

To make this easier for the readers, I have summarised the laws of God and Jesus Christ in this cleartext point.

Always remember Jesus' words:

"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deuteronomy 6/5)."
(Matthew 22/37)

Through the love of God, many things will be much easier for you in the future, which still cost you a great deal of overcoming.

So let the love of the Lord grow in your heart.
It helps you to fulfil God's laws voluntarily and joyfully.

"... therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."
(Romans 13/10)

Some people think they must serve God and obey, so that he may love them.
But it is exactly the opposite:

I obey God because he loves me -
and not so he loves me !

The Lord takes you as you are, but he does not want you to stay that way, but that you change so he may have joy in thee.

And this is precisely where God's laws help you.
(You'll find them a few lines below in red.)

One does not do good works to become a Christian, but you do good works because you have become a Christian.

Important advice:

Do not regard the laws of God as disturbing bars of a prison,
but as helpful grid bars of the railings of a bridge, which lead you over a deep gorge - into the kingdom of God - into paradise.

Question:

What is a sin ?

Answer:

Thinking, saying or doing something,
which contradicts God's laws,
That is a sin.

Sin is a rebellion against God.

All that is directed against the will of God is a sin.

He who sins does something that is wrong in God's eyes - or does not do something that is right in God's eyes.

In short:

"... sin is the transgression of the law."
(1 John 3/4)

Thus, what is not right in God's eyes - not appropriate.

One sins if one does what is wrong -
or doesn´t do what is right.

God establishes in his law what is wrong and what is right.

It is written in the New Testament:

"... for without the law sin was dead. (If it were not for God's law, nobody would know what sin is.) For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, (By God's law, I only realised that I lived wickedly, thus sinned) ... "
(Romans 7/8-9)

"... for by the law is the knowledge of sin."
(Romans 3/20)

Through God's laws (not only through the ten commandments) we know what sin is.

"Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law:
for I had not known lust, except the law had said,
(Exodus 20:17):"Thou shalt not covet."
(Romans 7/7

"Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good."
(Romans 7/12)
