God's laws - what should we do and rather not do ?
All these listed laws were confirmed by Jesus Christ -
thus, they are not old and outdated laws.
A little below the following laws of God is a "handicraft instruction"
with a statement on the subsequent "allowed" sorting of the laws.
Here you can get there directly.
A few lines below, I have written a summary of God's laws,
designated by the Lord Jesus Christ as "his" laws.
Jesus' words:
"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
(John 14/15)
"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me ..."
(John 14/21)
"If ye keep my commandments, (then) ye shall abide in my love ..."
(John 15/10)
And Jesus adds:
"You are (only then) my friends if you do what I command you
(If you put into practice what I tell you and ask you)."

First of all, a very important note:
All the laws of the Lord, which you can read in this cleartext point,
originate from the New Testament (except the Ten Commandments).
The law was thus not abolished by Jesus' birth and crucifixion.
(Please read in cleartext point 125, that the Old Testament maintains its validity.)
If you were told that God 's laws would no longer be valid since the implementation of the
New Testament, then please read absolutely
the beginning of cleartext point 137. It is about the issue of dispute:
"We live no longer under the law, but under grace."

No one must or should learn the laws by heart - but it would be sensible,
to read them from time to time (in the somewhat deeper following summary).
It is very important to put them into practice because you get used to it.
This, in turn, leads to the gradual adoption of laws -
according to the motto (proverb): "Practice makes perfect."
We should always strive with all our heart - and not follow the laws of God
half-hearted or lukewarm - or ignoring them.
This is why the following warning has been written for us in the bible:
"Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments,
and his judgments, and his statutes ..."

If you love the Lord with all your heart, then you won´t forget him guaranteed (and his laws)
but voluntarily be interested in following his laws out of love and gratitude -
especially as they serve us best.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God ..."
(Romans 8/28)
Following the laws of God, which Jesus Christ calls "his" laws.
First, God's ten commandments. (They are from the Old Testament.)
Some lines below follow the laws of God, which Jesus Christ asserted through his personal in-the-act transposition (by his example) and by his sermons.
They were all written down for us in the New Testament of the bible.
1.
We can only worship God and Jesus Christ.
Everything else would be a sin !
Regardless of which name they wear,
it is sin for God and Jesus Christ !
Please read in the cleartext point 101 that no one is allowed to pray to Mary or to other "saints" !
We must not "worship" and adore money and material values.

We shall keep the name of God holy
and not use it meaningless and in vain.
(For example: "Thank God ..." or "For God's sake ..." etc.)

We shall sanctify the holiday.
(The seventh day we shall use to recover - and to read in God's Word.)

We shall honour father and mother.

We shall not behave indecently.

We shall not steal, defraud, rob and blaspheme.

We shall not lie.

We shall not be greedy (possessive).

We shall recognise that we possess nothing and can do nothing by ourselves (without God's help).
God gives us the strength to succeed.

We should not get attached to material things.
This distracts us.
Spending money - and making money needs time.
To read God's Word - and then to put it into practice - also demands time.
Therefore the right relationship should always be chosen for the "service to God" and our private "pleasure".

We shall gather treasures in heaven.

Jesus loves the poor because they long for paradise.
We should know that for a rich man it is very hard to get into God's kingdom.
We are the rich in relation to the billions of the world's poor.

15.
Jesus says that we should put our faith firmly and securely,
By putting it into practice, what he commands us (tells us). Otherwise, it can happen that we "fade" one day.
(Matthew 7/24-29 and Luke 6/47-49)
I would like to give you the following tip:
Do not procrastinate the commandments which are particularly difficult for you, because that ain´t beneficial. All the laws of the Lord must be observed anyway, for he says:
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law (apart from that), and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
(James 2/10)
If you start with the laws that are particularly difficult for you, it can only get easier afterwards.
But if you procrastinate the difficult laws, you have a wall of fear and frustration in front of you, because you know that you have to execute these laws someday.
However, you do not know how much time the Lord still gives you.
Every man, even you, is only one breath,
a heart attack or an accident away from eternity !

Who, for example, always procrastinates the law of tithing, proves the Lord that he (or she) loves the money and the material pleasures of this world more than God.
But if you have given tithes to God for years, then you will scarcely fall away from the Lord because if problems arise you say to yourself:
"Now I have invested so much money in faith in all these years, now I will not be so foolish and fall away from the Lord and from faith, for then all that I have done and paid has been in vain."
You can not buy the kingdom of heaven with money - but if you love the money more than God, then the Lord will one day turn away from you.

By doing much for the Lord, Satan has no chance make you doubt.

Besides, it makes you strong inwardly when you know that you have succeeded in fulfilling the more difficult laws.
Through this strong self-confidence, nothing can throw you so quickly.
16.
We shall not only do what is pleasing to us, or what is easy for us,
but we should put all the laws of God and Jesus into practice.
What is meant by God's laws can be found out in cleartext point 002.

17.
We shall learn and show gratitude towards God and Jesus Christ.
By implementing their words consciously and enthusiastically,
we show them our gratitude.
On the subject of gratitude, please read the cleartext point 049.
Only when you know exactly why Jesus Christ had to be crucified -
why there was no other way for God to forgive us our sins,
then you will be even more grateful to Jesus.
Why Jesus had to die, you can find out in the cleartext point 006.
God and Jesus are watching us during our lives on this earth (see cleartext point 023).
They want to see, that we are enthusiastically active and do not only linger sluggishly on the church benches.
Jesus Christ speaks clear text. He says:
"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot."
(If you do not implement the words of Jesus with enthusiasm into action,
then you act lukewarm in his eyes.)
"Because thou art lukewarm ...
I will spue (spit) thee out of my mouth." (That is why I do not want you in my kingdom.)
(Revelation 3/15-16)

18.
We shall care intensively about the words of God and Jesus Christ -
thus to get acquainted with the laws of the Lord. For only who knows what they want from us can live on. Through bible study (or through the elaboration of the cleartext points) you will consolidate your knowledge. Jesus' words are to be memorised correspondingly.
We shall take the time to read the words of God and Jesus.
Please read the cleartext points 003 and 005 about this topic.
But it is important to put Jesus' words into practice.
So: read, understand, believe, remember and do !
The cleartext point 010 also bears this title: We should read (or hear) the words of God and Jesus Christ - understand - believe (do not doubt) - remember - and do !
Jesus wants us to hold on to his words - to literally cling to his word and follow it - thus, to put it into practice.
This obedience will ultimately set us free.
Jesus formulated it as follows:
"... If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
(John 8/31-32)
19.
We need to understand that there is no point in saying:
"I didn´t know, what God and Jesus wanted from me."
(John 15/22)
The secular proverb also applies in this case:
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
How Jesus Christ will judge at the Last Judgment, you learn in the cleartext point 118.
20.
We do not know how much time remains in our lives.
Therefore, we should not put off any longer.
Please also read the cleartext point 113. Its title: One day it's too late.
21.
We shall learn Godliness (fear of God). It is even helpful for us.
Jesus Christ says:
"And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body,
and after that have no more that they can do (to you).
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear:
Fear him (God), which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell;
yea, I say unto you, Fear him."
(Luke 12/4-5)

Please note that Jesus is speaking in the just read warning:
"And I say unto you my friends ..."

With this warning, he does not want to intimidate his enemies, but he wants to warn his friends about hell and show them the seriousness of the situation clearly.

22.
We must not dismiss the subject of hell and the Last Judgment as something ridiculous, unrealistic or invented by the church.
Jesus Christ personally warns us again and again with all seriousness.
If you do not believe Jesus, then you label him as a liar !

And the cleartext point 142 deals with the subject of hell.
23.
We shall establish a firm connection with God and Jesus Christ.
For more information, see the cleartext points 014 and 039.
Jesus explains to us what he understands as friendship.

24.
We are to do the will of God and Jesus Christ. Jesus does not want to be hypocritically addressed as "Lord" if we do not obey his words.
"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"
(Luke 6/46)

25.
We shall know that to God all laws, commandments and prohibitions are equally important. There are no important or unimportant laws.
Blasphemy weighs as hard as sin before God as murder.

26.
We are to seek our sins and faults in ourselves
and then repent them before Jesus Christ (honestly repent)
and to wholeheartedly make an effort not to repeat these mistakes (these sins).
We must know exactly why Jesus Christ had to be crucified -
why there was no other way for God to forgive us our sins.

27.
We must know, what awaits us at the last judgment if we don´t obey the words of God and Jesus Christ and put them into action.
What Jesus said about the last judgment, you can read in cleartext point 118.
But as we are not able to go through life without mistakes, we must honestly repent.

28.
We have to forgive our fellow human beings (even our enemies) - again and again !
Only then does the Lord forgive us our sins.
In cleartext point 078 you will learn why we have to forgive.
Jesus says:
"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, (then) your heavenly Father (God) will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, (then) neither will your Father (God) forgive your trespasses."

29.
We shall love our enemies and even help them.
We should pray for those who persecute us
and do good to those who hate us.

30.
We shall not repay evil with evil.
"Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men."
(Romans 12/17)
"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
(Romans 12/21)
When one repays evil with evil, the name of the victor is already fixed.
He can only be called "evil," because there was no other participant in the fight.
But if "evil" and "good" are fighting with each other, there is the chance that the victor is called "good", because there were two different participants in this fight.
We shall not avenge ourselves but learn forgiveness.

We shall reconcile ourselves with our fellow human beings rather immediately.

We shall settle peacefully with our opponent, to solve the problem extrajudicially - not that suddenly we are judged ourselves.

We shall not argue with our fellow men and insult them.

We shall prove with our deeds to other people, that we are Christians.

We should not judge other people and not condemn them.

We shall not utter useless words or phrases.
Blaspheming or gossiping is, for example, something useless.
God and Jesus forbid blasphemy (malicious slander).
We should not denigrate each other.

We shall not provoke - thus, not give offence.

We must not provoke other people with our behaviour so that they then sin.
For example, if you know someone does not have to say a single good word about another person, do not direct the conversation to that topic. Otherwise, your conversation partner will surely immediately talk bad about it or blaspheme.
But he would sin then. And who is to blame ?
You - because you have provoked him (albeit unconsciously).
We must not influence other people in such a way that they have less time, for example through recreational activities, to take care of God's word. This would be the case, for example, if you make a book or a film "palatable" to someone, although you already know that the one has hardly time to read the bible.

52.
We have to make sure that we do not fall from faith, because other people "seduce" us or "steal" our time. We should not blindly follow other people and their opinions.

We shall look at Jesus Christ as a perfect example, because he lived up a perfect life for us, a life that pleases God. When choosing our thoughts, our words and our deeds, we must emulate and follow him. We shall not learn from false role models. Jesus Christ is our teacher, Lord and master. His words and his predecessive model are to be internalised and followed.

54.
If we really want to live our lives according to God's laws, then we must completely "change" our entire life - thus, as to be "born again". It is not enough for the Lord to just "adjust" the past behaviour - to make only small changes ain´t enough for the Lord.

55.
We shall not think or say, "I know that he doesn´t tell me anything new."
We shall accept God's word as children, who are ready to receive because they do not yet know everything.

If we have changed our lives and now want to live one hundred percent according to the word of God, we must be very careful not to be reprobate.

We shall know, that Jesus is always with us and that he has placed a "helper" with us: the Holy Spirit.

We may not blaspheme the Holy Spirit, for that will never be forgiven to us.

The orders which God and Jesus give us in the bible are to be followed -
even if at the moment we have to accept disadvantages or losses.
On the last day, we are compensated for in the kingdom of God.

God and Jesus are against debauchery.
(Mark 7/22)

We shall not try to buy our soul from God through donations.
For God and Jesus, the amount of donation does not count,
but whether we have made this donation by personal renunciation
and whether we donate out of gratitude, because we are better off
than the needy and the poor.

If we give alms (donations), then we should not talk about the amount of donation - so do not brag about it.

But we may (and should even) mention that we donate to help other people - but not brag about it, just motivate others to do it also.

We shall help our fellow human beings to build a strong faith.

We shall recognise that our failure is not a proof
for our freedom, but that we are "servants of sin."

We shall know how precious the words of God and Jesus are.

There are many people who say:
"If I get it, it's good, and if not, then I've just had bad luck."
With such an attitude one does not get "run after" with eternal life.

We shall recognise that prayers for the dead can´t affect anything anymore. Instead, we should explain to people during their lifetime how they can get eternal life in the kingdom of heaven, in paradise.

We must know that people who now enjoy their lives and their living standards - but neglect the words of God and Jesus Christ - will fare badly after death.
Jesus says, "Blessed are you poor, for the kingdom of God is yours."
And Jesus Christ explains analogously:
Whoever loves this life will not get eternal life.
Literally, his statement is written in John 12/25:
"He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal."
Those who hate this life will do everything they can to get eternal life in God's kingdom,
where there is no shortage, no tears flow and there will be no pain and no suffering.

79.
We shall not serve two masters. Our leisure activities are often in "competition" with God and Jesus. We should not be distracted by the beautiful things of life.
Jesus says:
"No man can serve two masters ... Ye cannot serve God and mammon."(Mammon is the summary term for material things and money.)

If our life is normal or even successful, we will not deal intensively with God and Jesus Christ. We must, therefore, realise how serious God and Jesus are, when they demand something of us "with all the heart". We must learn what it means to "seek God and Jesus."

And now a law of God which is rejected even by very many "Christians" and "name Christians": We are to give God the tithes due to him.

These were the laws that Jesus Christ designates as "his" laws.
Just now (in the 99th law of the Lord) you could read Jesus' words:
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that (only those) doeth the will of my Father (put God´s laws into practice) which is in heaven."

The will of our heavenly Father is, among other things, that we use tithing so the word of the Lord may be spread. Jesus instructed every Christian by the great commission to do so (see cleartext point 030).
Therefore, please consider whether you want to defraud God of his tithes, to keep your living standard - or whether you will use this money in the future, so the words of God and Jesus can be spread according to the great commission order.
If you decide to fulfil Jesus' great commission, then you'll find out in the donation call information, how your money can bring great benefits to the Lord in a very efficient way.
Jesus Christ encourages us to strive with all our heart to put the Lord's orders into practice.
Inadvertent "slips" (that is, not deliberately committed sins) can be "washed away" by him at any time by honest repentance.
Through God's laws, we should not be harassed - but they help us, so we do not get off the right path.
By obeying the Lord voluntarily and out of deep gratitude,
it will be much easier for you to follow his laws.
In cleartext point 064 you will see how you can change a felt compulsion to voluntarism, only by rethinking. The title of this cleartext point is:
How does a: "You have to ...!" - become a voluntary: "I want ... !" - ?
Jesus tells us:
"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deuteronomy 6/5)."

Through the love of God, many things will be much easier for you in the future, which still cost you a great deal of overcoming.
"And this is love (of God), that we walk after his commandments ... "

Many a man will say, "What - ... his commandments are not difficult" - ?
They are only hard for the people which feel forced to adhere.
Who voluntarily respects the Lord's laws, out of love and gratitude, feels no heavy burden on his shoulders, but goes joyfully through life - always the goal in mind: eternal life in God's kingdom - in paradise.
So let the love of the Lord grow in your heart.
It helps you to fulfil God's laws voluntarily and joyfully.
"... therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."

But you can only repent if you know what you are doing wrong.
Only when you know the laws of God, you know your sins.
"Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law:
for I had not known lust, except the law had said,
(Exodus 20:17):"Thou shalt not covet."

God's law, which he gave men, contains more than the ten commandments.
His laws were distributed in various places in the bible.
To give just one example:
In God's ten commandments, it is not written that we should not blaspheme.
But blasphemy is a sin that blocks our access to God's kingdom on the Last Day.
"Be not deceived (don´t let yourself be persuaded by anyone to something wrong) !
Neither ... nor drunkards, nor revilers (blasphemers), nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
(1 Corinthians 6/9-10)
Hereby you recognise that it is very important,
to know and keep all the laws of God.
God wants us to make the effort to gather all his laws in the bible.
"... keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God ..."
(1 Chronicles 28/8)

Some people think they must serve God and obey, so that he may love them.
But it is exactly the opposite:
I obey God because he loves me -
and not so he loves me !
The Lord takes you as you are, but he does not want you to stay that way, but that you change so he may have joy in thee.
And this is precisely where God's laws help you.
(You'll find them a few lines below in red.)
One does not do good works to become a Christian, but you do good works because you have become a Christian.
Important advice:
Do not regard the laws of God as disturbing bars of a prison,
but as helpful grid bars of the railings of a bridge, which lead you over a deep gorge - into the kingdom of God - into paradise.
Question:
What is a sin ?
Answer:
Thinking, saying or doing something,
which contradicts God's laws,
That is a sin.
Sin is a rebellion against God.
All that is directed against the will of God is a sin.
He who sins does something that is wrong in God's eyes - or does not do something that is right in God's eyes.
In short:
"... sin is the transgression of the law."
(1 John 3/4)
Thus, what is not right in God's eyes - not appropriate.
One sins if one does what is wrong -
or doesn´t do what is right.
God establishes in his law what is wrong and what is right.
It is written in the New Testament:
"... for without the law sin was dead. (If it were not for God's law, nobody would know what sin is.) For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, (By God's law, I only realised that I lived wickedly, thus sinned) ... "
